Traditional red sandstone house in Galashiels

This property suffered from a badly laid and dull patio perched on top of an awkward slope.

The owners wanted to keep lots of grass, so the new design was based around two oval lawns and new planting.  The patio was re-laid with stone to match the house and a drystone dyke with steps links the area to the lawns.  Trellis panels and large planters have created privacy but give open access from the drive into the garden.
